About the Tour
The tour was founded by Junior Ingram and others in
1980 with the purpose of giving golfers of the panhandle area a
place to compete. No handicaps, no mulligans, no windmills, just
golf.
Those general principles
remain the same 20 years later, with one exception. In 2008, the
tour expanded to include an Open division and a Senior division to
give opportunities to those golfers that were not scratch players,
but still wanted to participate on a tour and have a place to
compete. In 2016, the tour merged with the Emerald Coast Senior Scratch Series and expanded to include a Super Senior Division.
The tour is about the
competition. Players earn points at each event based on their order
of finish. The top point earner for the season is declared the
player of the year. The top point earners are invited to
participate in the season ending tour championship.
Although, the tour is
mostly about the competition, gift certificates are awarded to the
top finishers in each division. All gift certificates will
be redeemable at all Edwin Watts Golf locations (including their on
line store). |
